Ohio ACEP members make a positive impact every day through significant contributions to their patients and to the specialty of emergency medicine. Ohio ACEP is committed to recognizing these efforts. Each year, the Ohio ACEP Annual Awards Program seeks to recognize and honor excellence in Advocacy, Education and Leadership.

Bill Hall Award for Service
The Ohio ACEP Bill Hall Award for Service is named in honor of Dr. William Hall, who served as Chapter President from 1974 to 1975 and Chapter Treasurer from 1979 to 1985. It is presented annually to a past or present member of the Ohio ACEP Board of Directors to recognize his or her contributions of time and enthusiasm for advancing emergency medicine and patient care.

Emergency Medicine Physician of the Year
The Emergency Medicine Physician of the Year Award was created to recognize clinicians of unusual merit and celebrate physicians who encourage members to pursue the ideals of emergency medicine. Recipients serve as outstanding physician role models, maintain high professional standards, provide high-quality care, and demonstrate dedication to emergency medicine.

Practice Innovation
The purpose of the Emergency Medicine Physician Practice Innovation Award is to recognize clinicians who have developed an innovative process, solution, technology or product to solve a significant problem in the practice of emergency medicine. 2026 is the inaugural year for this award.
Young Emergency Medicine Physician of the Year
The Young Emergency Medicine Physician of the Year Award was created to recognize clinicians of unusual merit in their first 10 years of practice post-residency. Recipients serve as outstanding physician role models, maintain high professional standards, provide high-quality care, and demonstrate dedication to emergency medicine.
