Ohio ACEP Board of Directors Candidate
Robert I. Broida, MD, FACEP
Dr. Robert Broida is Chief Operating Officer of Physicians Specialty, Ltd., and Director of Risk Management at Emergency Medicine Physicians, Ltd.
In addition to his business background, Dr. Broida has been significantly involved at the National ACEP level, including service on the National Emergency Medicine PAC Board (NEMPAC), Medical Legal Committee, and representing ACEP on The Joint Commission’s Professional Technical Advisory Panel (PTAC) and on the American Medical Association’s Task Force on Opioid Abuse Prevention.
Dr. Broida has served on the Ohio ACEP Board of Directors for two terms and, as Treasurer, provides advice and oversight for all the financial, regulatory compliance, and investment decisions for Ohio ACEP, a $1.5 million per year professional organization. He has also served the Chapter as a Councillor and on the EMS and BTLS Committees.
Legislative advocacy is a key area of interest for Dr. Broida. He has initiated and/or championed several of Ohio ACEP’s successful advocacy efforts over the last three years, and intends to continue his active involvement in that area should he be reelected to the Board of Directors.
Dr. Broida is running for reelection because believes his varied background in business, operations, quality, finance, and his involvement in ACEP at the national level are paramount in maintaining a diversity of thought and experience on the Ohio ACEP Board.
