Member Perspectives

Ohio ACEP has been an important part of my professional growth, offering a wealth of educational opportunities and platforms for advocacy. Through my contributions to legislative testimonies, I've had the chance to champion our specialty and influence policies directly affecting our practice and our patients.

- Dr. Eric Drobny

Ohio ACEP and National ACEP have shown me the true benefit a collective voice of our specialty can have as we come together to improve the delivery of care to our patients and communities.

- Dr. Ryan Squier

The education, mentorship, and professional connections I’ve gained through Ohio ACEP have had a lasting impact on my career, and I’m grateful for the role they continue to play in my journey.

-Dr. Colin Kaide

I am the leader I am today because mentors at Ohio ACEP helped me learn and improve my outlook, philosophy, and tactics for effective leadership. Ohio ACEP has also helped advocate for our work environment. From Medical Malpractice to ED boarding to reimbursement barriers, Ohio ACEP has stood in the breech so we can focus on patient care.

-Dr. Gary Katz

Ohio ACEP has given me the opportunity and outlet to advance initiatives that are important to me and to my patients.

-Dr. Laurel Barr

Ohio ACEP has been invaluable in connecting me with fellow practitioners across the state, fostering collaboration and the sharing of knowledge.

-Dr. Nancy Pook

Our patients are affected by more than what happens within the four walls of the ED, and Ohio ACEP gives me the ability to truly break through the political and social problems that affect our work.

-Dr. RJ Sontag

ACEP and Ohio ACEP speak for us and our patients in the political, regulatory, and other realms; trying to ensure that we can give the best care possible to our patients in an optimal professional environment.

-Dr. Sharon Mace

Ohio ACEP has helped me advance my career far beyond the walls of my ED!

-Dr. Somy Thottathil

Ohio ACEP has empowered me to step into areas I feel less comfortable such as advocacy. By having experts in these areas to support all of us in the College, Ohio ACEP makes being an active, contributing member effortless.

Dr. Brad Gable

Over the past several years, my involvement with Ohio ACEP has been both formative and deeply rewarding reinforcing my commitment to organized emergency medicine and physician advocacy.

Dr. Jesse Park

I am humbled to be part of this Chapter. I have seen the last few years shine an even brighter light on the work we must do inside the specialty – and outside it – to preserve and improve it, both for ourselves as physicians and for the communities we serve.
