The Emergency Service Institute at Cleveland Clinic is currently recruiting emergency physicians for our main campus in Cleveland, OH. The Department of Emergency Medicine is a full service emergency department with particular expertise in a variety of acute medical conditions. The Department sees approximately 55,000 adult and pediatric patients per year and is staffed by specialists in emergency medicine.

The Department is a leader in the use of an ED-based observation unit for the evaluation and treatment of patients with conditions that require more extensive testing or treatment than can be done in the emergency department. We have pioneered the use of the observation unit for treating acute decompensated heart failure. Our ongoing collaboration with various Institutes at Cleveland Clinic allows us to act as a referral center for our nine community hospitals and hospitals throughout the region, providing excellent patient care in all subspecialties. We are an access hub to Cleveland Clinic for patients arriving by Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport from around the United States and from around the world. Using Lean and Six Sigma, the Department of Emergency Medicine at Cleveland Clinic is continuously refining process to improve patient flow, quality metrics, and patient experience.
