Andrew W. Asimos, MD, FACEP, is the Medical Director, Carolina Stroke Network of Carolinas Healthcare System in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine of Carolinas Medical Center. Dr. Asimos has authored or coauthored multiple publications in the areas of stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA). Further, he has received research funding from federal, industry, and foundation sources for his TIA and stroke research. Dr. Asimos lectures extensively on the acute management of stroke, TIA, and other neurological emergencies.
