Ohio ACEP Board of Directors Candidate

Eileen Baker MD FACEPEileen Baker, MD, FACEP—Incumbent

Bowling Green, Ohio

Dr. Eileen Baker is a practicing emergency physician with Riverwood Emergency Services, at Mercy Defiance Hospital and Mercy Perrysburg. She also serves as Medical Director of the Ethics Curriculum at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences.

Dr. Baker has served on a variety of ACEP committees at both the state and national level, including the National College’s Ethics Committee, EMS Committee, and Continuing Education Committee. Here in Ohio, she has served Ohio ACEP as President, Secretary, Co-chair of the EMS Committee, and as faculty for various courses.

Dr. Eileen Baker joined the Ohio ACEP Board of Directors in 2004. Over the past decade, Dr. Baker has participated in the growth of Ohio ACEP’s educational offerings, including development of ultrasound courses, the Dr. Carol Rivers’ line of board review products, and expansion of the Chapter’s Emergency Medicine Review Course.

Serving as Chapter President in 2008 and 2009, during the economic downturn, Dr. Baker tasked herself with keeping Ohio ACEP “in the black.” Presently, Dr. Baker’s goal is to make Ohio ACEP synonymous with advocacy in the minds of Ohio emergency physicians. Ohio ACEP has fought for important medical malpractice reform and helped to improve Ohio’s harmful medical malpractice climate. Today, Ohio ACEP is making emergency physicians’ voices heard on issues ranging from opiate prescribing to head injuries.

Dr. Eileen Baker is running for reelection to keep up that policy momentum, continue to grow Ohio ACEP, and demonstrate its value to practicing emergency physicians.
