Ohio ACEP exists to promote quality emergency medical care and to represent the interests of Ohio's Emergency Physicians.

History

The Ohio Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) was chartered in 1972, and is the professional organization that represents Emergency Physicians throughout the state of Ohio. With over 1,100 members, Ohio ACEP is proud to be one of the largest and most active chapters in the country.

In order to achieve our mission, Ohio ACEP pays particular attention to education, political action, and interaction with other organizations involved in Emergency Medicine. Ohio ACEP members interact with emergency nurses, EMS personnel and other health care provider groups to further a common goal of providing high quality emergency care.

Since 1968, the American College of Emergency Physicians has provided leadership for the purpose of furthering the interests of emergency physicians and their patients. National ACEP membership includes approximately 25,000 actively practicing emergency physicians.

2009 proved to be an exciting year for Ohio ACEP with changes in leadership, and development of new products, courses, and programs. In January of 2010 Ohio ACEP acquired exclusive rights to Dr. Carol Rivers' board review products, securing Ohio ACEP as the essential source for emergency medicine board review preparation.
